Triptych is a Studio-tier export format that renders your PMV as three side-by-side vertical panels. Each panel shows different clips, all cut in sync to the same beat grid. The result is a visually dense, multi-angle video in a single file. High-energy EDM and dubstep maximize the visual impact of 3 simultaneous panels. Tracks with clear beat patterns make the synchronized cuts across panels more noticeable. Bass-heavy tracks work well since the visual density matches the audio intensity.

Common mistakes to avoid

• Not enough source clips - triptych uses 3x the clip material of a standard export. With under 30 clips, you'll see the same clip appearing in multiple panels simultaneously.
• Using clips with important action at the edges - each panel is a narrow vertical slice. Clips with centered action work best; wide-framing gets cropped.
• Expecting a Core-tier feature - triptych is Studio tier only. If you're on Core or Demo, you won't see the export option.
• Choosing slow music - triptych's visual density is best showcased with energetic tracks. Slow, ambient music makes three panels feel like overkill.
• Portrait-shot source clips - the panel slicing works best with landscape source material. Portrait clips inside narrow panels leave almost no visible content.

What you'll still do manually

Triptych is an export format, not a real-time editing mode - you can't individually control what appears in each panel or manually assign clips to specific panels. The AI distributes clips automatically across all three. If you need precise control over which clip goes where (e.g., same performer in all three panels from different angles), you'd need to create three separate single-panel exports and composite them in DaVinci Resolve.
