Exporting a triptych - three panels, one widescreen video

⏱ About 5 minutes

Steps

Add your clips

The usual library works: a triptych uses each clip in the edit once, so it needs no more footage than a normal edit. Vertical phone clips fill a panel best; widescreen clips are cropped to a vertical slice from the middle, following faces.

Create your edit normally

Pick your song and a style, and generate the timeline. The style sets the pace: Aggressive makes the panels cascade, slower styles let each panel hold.

Set Format to Triptych

At the bottom of the Editor's settings, next to Quality, choose Triptych (Studio; it shows a lock on Core and Demo). At every cut one panel changes, in rotation, so the video keeps the style's pace while each shot holds for about three cuts.

Render

You get one 1920x1080 widescreen video with three 9:16 panels side by side. For phones, render the Vertical format instead. With Keep your clips' own sound on, you hear each panel as it changes.
