What makes a good PMV generator

After testing everything, these are the factors that separate good from bad:

  1. Beat intelligence, not just beat detection - Cutting on every single beat sounds good in theory but produces monotonous results. Good generators understand when to cut on every beat (drops), every other beat (verses), or hold longer (breakdowns).
  2. Energy awareness - The generator should match clip intensity to song intensity. Intense clips on drops, softer clips on quiet sections. This is what makes a PMV feel "alive."
  3. Clip understanding - Ideally the tool understands what's in your clips (not just random selection). Vision AI that classifies scenes means the right content appears at the right moment.
  4. Privacy - Cloud-based tools ban adult content. Any real PMV generator must run locally.
  5. Speed - If it takes longer than 10 minutes, you might as well edit manually.
